Have you been trying to figure out which products are actually sustainable and non-toxic for your child? 

These are not buzzwords for the Hevea brand, but what the company was built on over ten years ago here in Copenhagen. 

The Kawan mini Rubberduck in Dusty mint is handcrafted out of pure natural rubber with a silky touch, and of course, toxic free and compostable. 

Each duck is hand painted and unique to its brothers and sisters, but always cute. 

Kawan’s shape, colors, and elasticity are thoughtfully designed to encourage your baby’s sensation of touch and stimulate their development of vision. 

Kawan is made for playing, teething, and bathing and doesn’t have a water hole.

FAQ

Why does my bath toy change colour as time goes by?
HEVEA is made from 100% natural rubber which isn’t conserved or given added antioxidants to keep it light yellow. Natural rubber is a natural material that changes over time.

What paint is used on Kawan?
Kawan is hand painted with pigments from vegetables and plants. Due to the colours being natural, they might fade over time. The toy should be kept in a clean, dry place out of direct sunlight or contact with a source of direct heat in order to last longer.

What are black spots?
The black spots, which might be mould spots (we don't know as we haven't seen it), can only appear if the bath toy has been wet/ moist for a longer period and not dried after use. However, we trust that you might be able to clean the mould off. Vinegar is a wonderful natural disinfectant and is safer than bleach. Please mix 1/2 cup of white vinegar with a gallon of water and let the toys soak for an hour. Scrub the toys down with a sponge and let them dry completely. This should help and if not all the moulding is released, please repeat the treatment.

Storage: When the bathing toy is not in use, dry it and keep in a clean and dry place, out of direct sunlight and heat. Produced from 100% natural rubber latex.

The bathing toys should be cleaned by hand or in a machine especially suitable for rubber. They should not be washed in a dishwasher. For a more natural approach to cleaning your bath toys, use vinegar. Mix four parts white vinegar to one part warm water. Submerge the toys completely or apply the solution to each toy with a sponge.

WARNING! FOR YOUR CHILD’S SAFETY – SAFETY ADVICE:

• Do not rip toy apart

• Check daily or before use that the bathing toys are in good condition. This is done by pulling the various parts of the toy and checking that it is still in good condition. If there are splits or changes in the toy, it should be discarded

• Hevea is made of 100% natural rubber, which can darken in color as time goes by

• Very few children are allergic to natural rubber, however watch out for any allergic reactions, and stop any use if an allergic reaction should occur because of using the toy CLEANING: The bathing toys should be cleaned by hand or in a machine suitable for this, and shouldn’t be washed in a dishwasher
