Grapat is a small, family-run workshop producing natural wooden toys in Catalonia, Spain. Made with love using mostly beech and birch wood sourced locally from sustainable forests. All Grapat Toys are finished with water-based, non-toxic dyes and vegetable oils, and come beautifully presented in sustainable eco-friendly packaging.

Natural Markings

These product is made of solid wood, minimally processed to retain as much of their natural texture and properties as possible. Unlike plastic, wood is an uneven natural material that frequently shows growth rings or knots, colour stains or rough areas. These ARE NOT DEFECTS and DO NOT CONSTITUTE REASON TO REPLACE THE PRODUCT - they are distinctive signs that guarantee the natural origin of the product and give uniqueness to each toy, telling the story of the tree from which it was made.

Every piece of wood has its own appearance, its own character and its own vitality. Its natural characteristics, and unique markings are therefore always to be considered. For example, dark spots on the rainbow are by mineral deposits. This means that if the tree had grown further, a branch would have developed at this point.

Black stripes are also something completely natural. This is the so-called pith tube or "heart of the tree". It differs from the surrounding wood by the darker colour and structure. When working on the wood, it can become completely or partially visible. This feature is part of the natural appearance of the wood. Therefore, these are not defects for us, but quality features of a natural product and as such are desired and welcome by us. We love this uniqueness of wood!

Cleaning

If you want to remove dirt from our products, simply wipe gently with a damp cloth and a little soapy water (if necessary). When drying, please do not place on the heater, otherwise, cracks may occur in the wood. Please allow to dry at room temperature. Please never clean our toys with disinfectant, hot water or similar!

Shipping

Orders are dispatched within 3 business days. During sale times dispatch will take longer than usual. Please be patient while we will pick, pack and ship your order as soon as possible.

Deliveries should arrive 3-5 business days from dispatch. Please use the tracking email to follow your delivery. Rural allow another few days for delivery. Please note that these are estimated delivery times only and are not guaranteed delivery dates.

Once we have packed your order you will be emailed the tracking link. Tracking information will be available once the courier has picked up your parcel which can take up to 1 business day from when we have packed your order depending on their pick-up schedule.

Click + Collect
Pick up is available from our Hillcrest warehouse on the North Shore of Auckland. We are open for pick-ups on Monday OR Wednesday between 10.00am and 2.00pm. Simply choose "pickup in store" at the checkout page. We will email you when your order is ready to collect as well as address and pick up instructions.

International
We ship all over the world. Shipping costs will apply, and will be added at checkout.

Due to recent U.S tariff changes, our primary shipper, NZ Post, has temporarily paused shipping to the United States (including Puerto Rico). Sorry for the inconvenience but we cannot unfortunately ship to the USA currently.
