How do the mats work?
Our mats are designed to be coloured in using our washable markers. Once they’ve finished, simply wipe or wash the mat, and it’s ready to use again!

What kind of markers should I use?
We recommend using our specially designed non-toxic, washable markers, which are triangular and easier for little hands to hold correctly. These markers have been extensively tested on our tablecloths!

Can I put the mat in the dryer?
No, we do not recommend using the dryer to dry the cloth. We recommend air drying your mat to preserve its quality and waterproof backing.

The markers haven't come out completely?
Try washing again, ensuring the mat isn’t twisted and preventing agitation. If ink remains, lie your cloth out in direct sunlight for an hour or so - the ink is UV sensitive so bleaches out quickly!in the wash?

Are the designs reusable after washing?
Yes! The printed designs remain intact after washing, allowing your child to colour in the same patterns again or experiment with new colours.

Are the mats environmentally friendly?
Yes! The waterproof PUL backing helps protect your mat from spills and messes, making it ideal for mealtime, craft activities, and playtime.

Do the mats stain over time?
If used with washable markers and cleaned promptly, your mat should remain stain-free. However, prolonged exposure to certain dyes may leave light marks over time.

Can I iron the mat?
On a low heat, you can iron the mat on the printed side. Do not iron on the backing side, this will melt the PUL backing!

Can I buy extra washable markers?
Yes! We sell additional sets of our specially designed non-toxic, washable markers so kids can keep colouring again and again.

How long do the mats last?
With proper care, our mats are designed to last for years, providing endless hours of creative fun and family engagement.

Are they suitable for outdoor use?
Yes! They are great for picnics, BBQs, and outdoor play. Just make sure to bring them inside after use to keep them in top condition.

Can I use permanent markers on the mats?
No, permanent markers will not wash out. Only use our Wash Away markers to keep your mat reusable.

How long do the markers last?
With the cap properly replaced after use, the markers should last for many hours of colouring fun. Store them horizontally to keep the ink flowing evenly.

What should I do if the ink dries out?
If a marker dries out, try placing the tip in a small amount of warm water for a few minutes to help revive it. Always cap markers tightly after use.

Will the ink wash out of clothes?
The ink is designed to wash out of most fabrics with a warm/hot wash cycle. For best results, wash clothing as soon as possible after colouring. However, as our markers have only been tested extensively on our tablecloths we are unable to offer any guarantee for ink on clothing or other fabrics and surfaces.

What makes the Colour Me Kids Wash Away Markers different from other washable markers?
Our Wash Away Markers are ultra-washable, designed to easily wash out of our Washable, Reusable, Waterproof colouring in tablecloths, and smudges come off children's skin with minimal effort - making them perfect for mess-free colouring fun! They also feature a triangular barrel, which is ideal for teaching correct pencil grip.

Can the markers stain skin?
The ink is designed to wash off skin easily. However, if applied directly, it may take a few washes to completely fade. Warm water and soap should help remove any lingering ink.

Our mats are made from 100% cotton twill with a waterproof PUL (polyurethane laminate) backing. This makes them durable, reusable, and easy to clean while protecting your table from spills.

Little Whimsy is an online store based on Auckland’s North Shore. Orders are packed and dispatched from our Hillcrest warehouse.

We aim to dispatch orders within 3 business days, although dispatch may take longer during busy periods, new releases, Christmas and major sales. You’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking once your order has been packed and collected by the courier.

New Zealand shipping

We ship New Zealand-wide.

• Free NZ shipping on orders $200 and over, including rural delivery, unless an oversize surcharge applies

• $9 flat rate courier shipping for orders under $200

• Rural delivery for orders under $200: $14 no signature or $15 signature/photo required

• Some large or bulky items may have an oversize shipping surcharge, which will be shown at checkout where applicable

Most New Zealand orders arrive within 3–5 business days from dispatch, although rural addresses and busy courier periods may take longer.

Please note that delivery timeframes are estimates only and may be affected by courier delays, weather events, public holidays or high-volume periods.

Once your order has been packed, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking details.

Tracking may take up to 1 business day to update after your parcel has been collected and scanned by the courier.

Click & collect

Click & collect is available from our Hillcrest warehouse on Auckland’s North Shore.

Pickups are available: Monday and Wednesday, 10am–2pm

Please wait until you receive your collection email before coming in, as this means your order has been packed and is ready to collect. Our warehouse is not open for browsing, and orders cannot be collected before you receive your pickup confirmation.

Delivery address changes

Please check your delivery address carefully before placing your order.

If you notice an address error, contact us as soon as possible. If your order has not yet been packed or collected by the courier, we’ll do our best to update it.

Once an order has been dispatched, we are unable to change the delivery address from our end. You may be able to request a redirect directly through the courier, depending on the service used.

Authority to leave

If you choose authority to leave or request that your parcel is left without a signature, this is at your own risk.

Little Whimsy is not responsible for parcels that are marked as delivered by the courier but are lost, stolen or damaged after being left at the delivery address.

Australian shipping

We ship to Australia, with rates shown at checkout based on your cart and delivery address.

Australian parcels are sent with tracking. Once your parcel arrives in Australia, tracking and delivery are handled by the local postal or courier service.

Any customs charges, duties, taxes or import fees are the responsibility of the customer.

International shipping

We ship to many international destinations, with available rates shown at checkout depending on your cart and delivery country.

International delivery times vary by destination and service selected. Parcels may also be delayed by customs processing or local postal services.

Bulky or oversized items

Some large, heavy or bulky items may incur additional shipping charges.

Where possible, any oversize surcharge will show at checkout. If your order contains unusually bulky items and the actual shipping cost is significantly higher than charged, we may contact you before dispatch to discuss options.

Sale and busy period dispatch

During major sales, Christmas, new releases or especially busy periods, dispatch may take longer than usual.

We pack orders as quickly as possible in the order they are received and are unable to prioritise individual orders during these periods.
