Why buy a Brolly Sheet?

Brolly sheets are a bed pad with wings, with a 100% cotton top. We have a small ethical factory where the team are paid fairly and go home every night to their families. Unlike many of the larger factories, where the team live onsite.

Why is cotton so important?

If it's not cotton, it's not comfy. Many of our competitors talk of a comfortable sleep surface. That means polyester. Natural, breathable fibres ensure a healthier, more comfortable sleep. Polyester can cause sweating, discomfort and of course it isn't as good for the planet. If the product doesn't say cotton, it is polyester.

How do I use a Brolly Sheet bed pad with wings?

Just pop the Brolly Sheet on top of your bottom, fitted sheet with the quilted side up, then tuck in the wings to hold in place. Your loved one sleeps on top of the cotton surface. The waterproof layer protects your mattress, they hold up to 2 litres. Once your Brolly Sheet is wet, simply whip off the bed and replace with a clean one. No more striping the bed!

How do I machine wash my Brolly Sheet?

We designed our Brolly Sheets to be easy wash - no special treatments needed here. Wash on a warm or cold wash with like colours. A Brolly Sheet dries more quickly on the line than many of our competitor products that use more plastic and polyesters. They can be tumble dried on a low heat. Be careful, too much heat will damage the waterproof backing.

Is a Brolly Sheet suitable for adults?

Yes, our brolly sheets are designed to hold 2 litres of liquid. So they are great for kids and adults alike.

How long do Brolly Sheet bed pads last?

How long they last depends a lot on how often they are used and how they are dried. We offer a 12 month warranty from date of purchase, but they do last a lot longer. We have customers that have used them through all of their kids, over several years. We make our Brolly Sheets out of the best quality fabrics, they are made to last.

Who designed the Brolly Sheet?

Company founder Diane, designed the very first Brolly Sheet for her eldest child back in 2005. She needed an easy way to quickly change a wet bed at 2 am in the morning. Soon friends were asking her to make one for them. Then Diane started selling them at local Sydney markets and the rest is history.

What sizes do Brolly Sheets come in?

What is behind the name?

When Diane was trying to think of a name, she thought of the slang term for an umbrella. A brolly (umbrella), protects by keeping water away from the person underneath, just like a Brolly Sheet protects your mattress.

Diane first started selling to local Sydney markets in 2006 and she hasn't looked back. Now with a full suite of waterproof products, from bedding to undies, bibs and bandanas (for kids and adults), we have you protected.

Cold or warm machine wash, line dry or warm tumble. Do not iron or dry clean or use bleach or fabric softeners. Please wash separately before use as this will soften the fabric and aid absorbency.

Because of the 100% cotton top and soft PUL backing, Brolly Sheets Petite are very soft and quiet. There is no crackle or rustling as with products that contain PVC and vinyl.

Little Whimsy is an online store based on Auckland’s North Shore. Orders are packed and dispatched from our Hillcrest warehouse.

We aim to dispatch orders within 3 business days, although dispatch may take longer during busy periods, new releases, Christmas and major sales. You’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking once your order has been packed and collected by the courier.

We ship New Zealand-wide.

Most New Zealand orders arrive within 3–5 business days from dispatch, although rural addresses and busy courier periods may take longer.

Please note that delivery timeframes are estimates only and may be affected by courier delays, weather events, public holidays or high-volume periods.

Once your order has been packed, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking details.

Tracking may take up to 1 business day to update after your parcel has been collected and scanned by the courier.

Click & collect

Click & collect is available from our Hillcrest warehouse on Auckland’s North Shore.

Pickups are available: Monday and Wednesday, 10am–2pm

Please wait until you receive your collection email before coming in, as this means your order has been packed and is ready to collect. Our warehouse is not open for browsing, and orders cannot be collected before you receive your pickup confirmation.

Delivery address changes

Please check your delivery address carefully before placing your order.

If you notice an address error, contact us as soon as possible. If your order has not yet been packed or collected by the courier, we’ll do our best to update it.

Once an order has been dispatched, we are unable to change the delivery address from our end. You may be able to request a redirect directly through the courier, depending on the service used.

Authority to leave

If you choose authority to leave or request that your parcel is left without a signature, this is at your own risk.

Little Whimsy is not responsible for parcels that are marked as delivered by the courier but are lost, stolen or damaged after being left at the delivery address.

Australian shipping

We ship to Australia, with rates shown at checkout based on your cart and delivery address.

Australian parcels are sent with tracking. Once your parcel arrives in Australia, tracking and delivery are handled by the local postal or courier service.

Any customs charges, duties, taxes or import fees are the responsibility of the customer.

International shipping

We ship to many international destinations, with available rates shown at checkout depending on your cart and delivery country.

International delivery times vary by destination and service selected. Parcels may also be delayed by customs processing or local postal services.

Shipping to the United States, including Puerto Rico, is currently paused due to recent tariff and shipping changes.

Bulky or oversized items

Some large, heavy or bulky items may incur additional shipping charges.

Where possible, any oversize surcharge will show at checkout. If your order contains unusually bulky items and the actual shipping cost is significantly higher than charged, we may contact you before dispatch to discuss options.

Sale and busy period dispatch

During major sales, Christmas, new releases or especially busy periods, dispatch may take longer than usual.

We pack orders as quickly as possible in the order they are received and are unable to prioritise individual orders during these periods.
