Swings can be mounted in doorways or/and on beams, ceiling joists, verandas, pergolas and swing stands or the like. Screw 2 screw eyes or eyebolts approx. 500mm apart with the holes in the eyes facing forward. It is important to have the eyes facing forward because then the carbine hook will roll and not grind in the eye. Having the ropes going wider apart as they go up helps the swing to swing strait. Check the ropes, hooks and eyes regularly for wear and tear. The sun gradually breaks down the fiber in all rope. A safety surface under the swing is recommended.

Where can I hang a swing?

There are many choices for hanging your swing either indoors or outdoors. You will need to be sure that the point of hanging is strong enough for the weight to be used in the swing and there is enough space around the swing for it to operate safely. How can I hang my swing from a tree?

It is important to make sure that the branch you would like to hang the swing from is strong enough to take the weight of the person and the force of swinging. Where can I hang my swing inside?

Inside you will need to hang it from a strong structural point in the ceiling, a beam, rafter or door frame. The safest way is to use 2 stainless steel screw eyes in and clip the swing to these using the stainless steel carbine clips that come with the swing. CANVAS
Our canvas is super easy to clean. Spot wash by brushing with a solution of natural soap in lukewarm water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove soap and air dry.

For stubborn stains or suntan lotion, use fabric spot remover according to the remover instructions.

Solution-dyed acrylic does not promote mildew growth. However, mildew may grow on dirt and other foreign substances that are not removed from the fabric. To clean mildew stains, prepare a mild solution of 1 cup
bleach and 2 capfuls of natural soap per gallon of water. Spray on entire area and allow the solution to soak in. If necessary, scrub vigorously with a sponge or clean rag. Sponge thoroughly with clean water and air dry.

WOOD
Timber naturally goes grey if left outdoors. If you'd like to slow down the greying in the weather, oil often with any suitable non toxic oil. If you are not using your swing for long periods of time we recommend taking it inside to keep it looking great.

The soft canvas seat hugs the shape of the body when swinging, sitting or lying on the tummy creating a secure fit. Having no hard extrusions without give makes it a much safer swing for kids in the vicinity of the swing than standard swings. Most New Zealand orders arrive within 3–5 business days from dispatch, although rural addresses and busy courier periods may take longer.

Click & collect

Click & collect is available from our Hillcrest warehouse on Auckland’s North Shore.

Pickups are available: Monday and Wednesday, 10am–2pm

Please wait until you receive your collection email before coming in, as this means your order has been packed and is ready to collect. Our warehouse is not open for browsing, and orders cannot be collected before you receive your pickup confirmation.

Delivery address changes

Please check your delivery address carefully before placing your order.

If you notice an address error, contact us as soon as possible. If your order has not yet been packed or collected by the courier, we’ll do our best to update it.

Once an order has been dispatched, we are unable to change the delivery address from our end. You may be able to request a redirect directly through the courier, depending on the service used.

Authority to leave

If you choose authority to leave or request that your parcel is left without a signature, this is at your own risk.

Little Whimsy is not responsible for parcels that are marked as delivered by the courier but are lost, stolen or damaged after being left at the delivery address.

Australian shipping

We ship to Australia, with rates shown at checkout based on your cart and delivery address.

Australian parcels are sent with tracking. Once your parcel arrives in Australia, tracking and delivery are handled by the local postal or courier service.

We ship to many international destinations, with available rates shown at checkout depending on your cart and delivery country.

Sale and busy period dispatch

During major sales, Christmas, new releases or especially busy periods, dispatch may take longer than usual.

We pack orders as quickly as possible in the order they are received and are unable to prioritise individual orders during these periods.
