How can I stop my socks from pilling?
Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to avoid pilling completely. Pilling is caused by friction, the rubbing against another fabric or surface. To reduce pilling, we recommend washing inside out in a lingerie bag. Pilling will increase when worn to bed and with crawling age infants. The feedback we have received is to turn socks inside out for bed or have a pair specifically for sleeping.
Materials
70% Merino, 25% Nylon, 5% Elastane
We believe this is the perfect blend of warmth and durability. Your socks need the elastane to keep them up and the Nylon gives that little bit of extra strength to help with wear.
We care about the sheep that produce our fine merino wool. Our manufacturers confirm our merino wool is certified mulesed-free.
Made in New Zealand
Our manufacturer believes heavily in sustainability and is based right here in New Zealand. They utilise strategic partnerships with factories who have signed declarations promoting ethical employment. Our manufacturer chooses to actively manage their consumables and are always looking to reduce the impact of this consumption.
Water: Sourced from local sources and all waste water is treated via local treatment plants
Power: Is sourced from local rain fed renewable resources continuing to drive their power consumption down, via the use of Industry 4.0 methodology.
Emissions: Natural gas is used for firing its boiler. Natural gas much more efficient and cleaner than other forms of firing such as heavy oil or diesel.
Packaging:
Our new packaging has been designed with no plastic hangers. Our printers are committed to the continued protection of our fragile environment and have instituted a number of policies designed to improve the sustainability of the business and its impact on the environment.
They use certified stock where possible - stock processed from timber that has been legally harvested with a minimum of environmental harm thereby ensuring economical, ecological and socially sound
outcomes. Using sustainably sourced paper and board, plus recycled paper options, and use only soya-based inks and water soluble wash-up products.
The inks are Soy Based which is 100% environmentally safe.
Their plates are CTP Chemical Free so no chemicals are used when producing our plates ready for printing and our wash up is done using only water.
Why Merino
Why Wear Merino Wool? Nature knows best when it comes to creating fabric fibres. The natural benefits of merino wool are numerous; it’s no surprise that it has become a wardrobe staple, from adventure wear to sports gear to everyday fashion.
Here’s what makes merino wool so special:
It’s soft on skin: The super fine fibres of merino wool offer a luxuriously soft fabric once spun, making it gentle on skin (especially the sensitive skin of babies!), and without the irritation of traditional wool.
It keeps you dry: This clever wool is able to take moisture away from the skin as a vapour, which is then released into the
air. It means that even when you’re working up a sweat, your skin will stay warm and dry, without feeling clammy.
It’s not just for winter: Merino wool is a versatile fabric that can be worn all year round. That’s due to its ability to regulate body temperature, keeping heat in when the outside temperature is cold, and releasing unwanted warmth when the temperature heats up.
It stays fresh for longer: Merino’s special fibres can also trap odour caused by bacteria, meaning your socks stay fresher for longer compared to other fabrics. Merino socks are great for travelling or for activities that call for a little more exertion!
It’s a better choice for the planet: Merino is a natural, regenerative fibre, grown by happy, healthy sheep. And what starts in nature, can go back to nature too - merino is completely biodegradable, meaning it
breaks down in the ground and puts nutrients back into soil.

Size Guide

** Please note this is a size guide only. If you exceed either the height or weight indicator, please go one size up. The flat knit tights are a firmer fit.
How do I choose the right size sock for my infant?
Babies come in all shapes and sizes. Our sizes are a guideline only and are not a one size fits all. To ensure your socks are not too tight on your infant always place a finger between your baby’s skin and the band of the sock to make sure the items are not restrictive. If you think they are too firm either scrunch the sock down, fold over the cuff, or go to the next size up. Alternatively use our Crew length socks which sit lower on the leg. Our knee high socks are designed to be worn below the knee.
